NYSTRÖM ASSIGNED SPEEDGROUP REPRESENTATIVE IN FINLAND

Ex Pro Mod driver Kristian Nyström has been assigned as Speedgroups general representative and contact person for Finland.

Nyström, who has been active since long in the Pro Modified
class comments the new assignment;  - I have been involved in drag racing since 1994 and in the Pro Mod class 2006-2012. We took a decision in the team last year that it was the right time to quit after the season 2012. The main reason being lack of time and also the difficulty to find sponsorship. So no more racing for me, and the car is sold..

I have made many friends throughout Europe thanks to Drag Racing and I am extremely proud to have been involved in making the sport more and more well-known over the years. I have monitored Speedgroups work in European Drag Racing and their professional success and Speedgroups operation have interested me. During the late winter Speedgroup´s coordinator Åsa Kinnemar asked in general if I would be interested to become involved as the general contact person in Finland.

The question was brought up again last week and I thought for a only brief while and a few days back I accepted the assignment. I have been provided an emailadress for the purpose kristian.nystrom@speedgroup.eu

I am honored to take on this assignment and will be happy to provide information to teams in Finland they may need and listen to their feedback in different matters and bring feedback to the EDRS work group and Speedgroup management. I look forward seeing you soon and keep up the good work all of you!

Coordinator Åsa Kinnemar explains;
- we have been wanting to assign a dedicated representative in Finland for quite a while, just like we have in a few other countries in Europe. We have good relations with the organizer FHRA and many of the teams, but as Finland is a very important country for drag racing we feel it would be valuable short and long term to have someone paying a bit of extra attention to the Finnish teams and matters related to drag racing in Finland.

When I found out that Kristian was not going to race, it felt like the most natural thing to ask him to get involved and I am sure he will be an asset for Speedgroup in many ways from now on. Just the fact he can assist Finnish teams in their own language (beside speaking English and Swedish) is a huge benefit, which we have been lacking before.

I have personally also asked Kristian to keep an eye on the Pro Modified class for us which he has been part of for so long, and provide some expertise comments
and make some research which I think will make a difference when we report about the Pro Mod class from the championship events.

We encourage Finnish teams and other parties involved in drag racing based in Finland, to contact Kristian
any time in drag racing related matter where Speedgroup can assist.
