Since the introdcution in May 2010, the Speedgroup Club Europe Online Newsletters have been published as previews and reviews of all FIA & UEM Championshop races and monthly during October - April months. Read by thousands and appreciated by many, each newsletter has high quality content and feature as well event reports class by class, as articles of technical nature and of course featuring profiles connected to the FIA & UEM Championship.

Speedgroup encourage teams to make good use of the online newsletters we publish by adding crew members, sponsors and friends to the mailinglist and let them recieve each edition the minute we publish it! We handle all emailadresses in confidence and don´t use them for other purposes than bringing recipients news connected to the FIA & UEM Championship.

To add emailadresses, please collect them in one email and send to asa.kinnemar@speedgroup.eu You can always have us remove an emailadress whenever you wish. We don´t need the names, just the emailadresses. To read the December edition please click the Newsletter link in the left column!

CONTINGENCY PROGRAM for the FIA & UEM European Drag Racing Championship 2012

The Speedgroup FIA & UEM Championship 2012 Contingency Program is today introduced online. Please check the Contingency Program page.

As a result of Speedgroups work and exhibiting at the PRI show in early December, the Championship Contingency Program have a current value of over $112.000. Details can be found in the documents we have prepared and placed online at the Contingency Program page. The Speedgroup FIA & UEM Championship 2012 Contingency Program will be worked on over the winter months and additions and updates will be published continuously, so please check in once in a while.

- which is for both teams that will be active in the FIA & UEM Championship and suppliers interested to sign up for the contingency program.

Sign-up for the Speedgroup Contingency Program opens for the teams in Jan/Feb online. INTEREST FOR EUROPEAN DRAGRACING AT PRI

Leanders Clutch exhibited at the PRI and renewed their contingency program contract with Speedgroup during the show and for 2012 it will also includeTop Methanol Dragster in addition to Pro Mod, Pro Stock and Methanol Funny Car.

For the third time Speedgroup were among the exhibitors at the PRI Performance Racing Industry Show in Orlando USA December 1-3rd. After three hectic days Speedgroup staff consisting of Michael Gullqvist, Roger Lyrén and Åsa Kinnemar can tell the interest for European Drag Racing is present and that we have resigned a number of companies for the contingency program and added new ones both for pro and sportsman classes. A lot to follow up when we return home to Sweden in a few days. Have been great meeting collegues from Australia, the US and Europe here in Orlando

NDRS AND SDL BANQUET INCLUDED EXTRAORDINARY AWARDS!

Tierp Arena received the Eagle Award delivered by the Svensk Dragracing Association for their contribution to Drag Racing Europe. The founders themselves was on stage - Lars-Erik and Ritha Lindberg, Leif and Åsa Andréasson
	UEM Funny Bike Cup winner Rikard Gustafsson received multiple awards - the UEM medal presented by Svemo, the UEM record diplomas for speed and ET and last but no least the Funny Bike Cup trophy presented by the UEM promoter Trakbak
	Appreciated FIA Championship Contingengcy sponsors - JP of Simpson Race Products and Mats Eriksson of ME Racing Services was awarded with diplomas by Speedgroup´s Aila Striem and Åsa Kinnemar

EUROPEAN AND SWEDISH CHAMPIONS AWARDED IN STOCKHOLM

The Swedish based European Champions Micke Gullqvist (Pro Mod - far right), Jimmy Ålund (Pro Stock - center) and Ulf Leanders (top Methanol Funny car - 2nd from the left) received the official FIA trophies in connection with the Swedish Autosports Federations 75-year anniversary in Stockholm Sweden November 19th. The Swedish Championship awards in Pro Mod was also presented during the same occasion to Micke Gullqvist, Johan Lindberg and sMats Eriksson.

2nd FIA CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND AT TIERP ARENA CONFIRMED
The 2^nd championship event applied for by Swedish Tierp Arena for august 23-

36th has been approved by the Swedish Autosports Federation and sent to FIA to
be included in the 2012 calendar.

The Tierp event in august has not yet got UEM status confirmed by is expected to be approved as a UEM championship round as well, possibly after the UEM meeting held late in november.

The additional NDRS sportsman series events administered by Speedgroup that are scheduled to be run at Tierp Arena, will hopefully be confirmed by the end of November. Preliminary plans are for 2 pure NDRS sportsman events in addition to the FIA championship dates. We will inform you about those too as soon as we know, as the NDRS is open for Pro Mod and to some extent provide test & tune for other classes.

REVISED FIA POINTS TOP FUEL DRAGSTER

The FIA points for Top Fuel Dragster have been updated after the FIA ADC´s (anti doping committee) decision in the TJ case. Points from the Alastaro event has been taken away and in addition an ban from FIA competition is in effect until july 2nd 2012.

With the revised points table in place the "trophy top positions" changes in the sense that Risto Poutiainen climed from no 3 to no 2, while Timo Lehtimäki will receive the 3rd prize trophy.

RACE CALENDAR 2012

The preliminary Championship Schedule for 2012 is onilne at the race calendar 2012 page. The majority of the events are set and confirmed but there are a few events with pending status. The Gardermoen race goes out of the UEM calendar, but will possibly be included by Speedgroup and the organizers NDRG in the NDRS sportsman series system. The UEM status for the Kunmadaras race in Hungary is pending, we hope to have more news about that before the end of october. Beside the Sweden Internationals in june at Tierp Arena, there will be a second championship event in Sweden 2012. At this time it is not confirmed if that will be at Mantorp Park in july or at Tierp Arena in august. As soon as we know anything about the events that are not confirmed we will publish updated online. Any questions in regards to the calendar please email asa.kinnemar@speedgroup.eu

SPEEDGROUP MET FIA ORGANIZERS AND THE FIA SUB COMISSION IN STOCKHOLM

On saturday sept 17th a meeting with FIA organizers and the FIA dragracing sub commission was organized in Stockholm on the initiative of Speedgroup´s managing director Michael Gullqvist and the FIA dragracing sub commission chariman Lars Pettersson. The season 2011 was reviewed and questions regarding different matters connected with the forthcoming 2012-2013 championships was on the agenda.The provisional calendar for 2012 will be published during the course of the next weeks.

TROPHY PRESENTATION AND PARTY AT SANTA POD

Santa Pod Raceway and Speedgroup will jointly be holding a Trophy Presentation and End of Season party after the FIA European Finals on Sunday 11th September from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am.

Please note the Speedgroup Championship awards will be presented to the top 3 winners in all FIA and UEM championship categories at Santa Pod. In addition UEM representatives also bring the official UEM awards to Santa Pod, while the official FIA trophies will not be delivered on site (stay tuned for more info on that, we are waiting for instructions from FIA)

Tickets can be bought from The Pod Shop throughout the FIA European Finals for just £15 per person which includes a free drink on arrival. Buffet dinner along with evening entertsainment is also included. The location for this is Santa Pod Raceway´s VIP marquee

Please if possible reserve your tickets via email to asa.kinnemar@speedgroup.eu (team, number of persons and contact person+mobilephone) at the latest September 5^th . After that all ticket sales and reservations are handled via the Pod shop on site. They are open from Wednesday and onwards..
Payment and collection of preordered tickets are also made at the Pod shop

Anyone wishing to attend only to receive their award (without foods, drinks and party participation) can of course do so at no cost.

NDRS EVENT AND SWEDISH CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND FOR PRO MOD AT TIERP ARENA JULY 29-30th

TEST & TUNE OPPORTUNITY FOR FIA AND UEM TEAMS

The round of the NDRS and SDL sportsman series was cancelled by Mantorp Park is now confirmed to be run at the new Tierp Arena including Swedish Championship round status for the FIA and NDRS Pro Mod class.

For the Pro Modified class this is a swedish championship round as well as an NDRS Series Event. Read the invitation and supplementary regulations here: SUPP_REG_NDRS_Nationals_2.pdf

Tierp Arena also welcome FIA and UEM teams to Test & Tune during the competition NDRS Nationals II on the 29^th – 30^th of July 2011!

The organizer would like to receive an interest by e-mail to Emelie Carlswärd at emelie@tierparena.com from drivers who don’t belong to the NDRS and SDL classes and then the organizer will have a discussion about each driver, who then receive a reply by email if they accept participate or not participate during NDRS Nationals II at Tierp Arena.

To register your interest for this test & tune session, the organizer ask you to fill out the form below and email it to event manager Emelie Carlswärd. Then organizer will get back to with a clearance and payment details by e-mail, if the interest application and entry for test & tune is accepted.

sMost of the Pro Stock cars can be classified into the class Competition Eliminator that is part of the NDRS sportsman series at the event. Test & Tunes is planned to include two rounds per day, but it may be less or more opportunities, depending on how the NDRS Nationals race develops.

RACEPAK AND MSD ON SITE AT TIERP ARENA

Joe Pando from MSD and Tim Anderson from Racepak will be at Tierp Thursday morning (June 9th). They will have a tent in the vendor midway (with banners and Racepak/MSD flag flying) that racers can stop by, when they need MSD and Racepak technical support. If they are out helping other customers, there will be signup sheet to complete, with name, car number class and location in the pit area. This is the same method used at NHRA events and works well to help quickly locate and service all customers. Tim Anderson and Joe Pando will be onsite from Thursday through Sunday night.

After completed qualifications, but rained out eliminations the points standings are as follows;

The SFI Recertification tour arrived at Persåkers Speedshop, Sweden today. More than 90 teams was present or had sent their clutches, bellhousings etc. to be inspected and approved by the US/UK/Swedish group of tech representatives on site. Among those Arnie Kuhns SFI and chassis builders Murph Mc Kinney, Andy Robinson and Mats Eriksson. Many well-known prominent racers and officials on site, we show some of them above!

Söderfors Herrgård close to Tierp Sweden was the setting for a two day Speedgroup board work meeting, which also included a visit to Tierp Arena. One word expressed what the board members thought of the arena in the making.. Impressive!

Speedgroup steps into sportsman racing - acquires NDRS Dragracing Series

After two years as administrator of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship, Speedgroup has extended its operations to encompass Sportsman racing. Speedgroup has taken over responsibility for Europe’s biggest Sportsman programme, the NDRS Drag Racing Series. The Swedish series, SDL (Swedish Dragracing League), which is partly integrated with NDRS, will also fall under Speedgroup’s control. FIA and NDRS Pro Mod driver Micke Gullqvist prepares to compete at the NHRA Gatornationals, in Gainesville Florida March 10-13th , for the second consecutive year. Gullqvist´s 2010 Gators participation took him all the way to the winner circle where he ended as runner-up. SPEEDGROUP and TT-LINE in co-operation for team ferry discounts

SPEEDGROUP has renewed the agreement with ferry operator TT-line securing discounts for FIA Car and UEM Bike teams active in the European Drag Racing Championship.

TT-line is is a major actor between Sweden and Germany, operating the routes Travemünde-Trelleborg, Rostock-Trelleborg both directions with several depatures around the clock, all year round. TT-lines timetables can be found at www.ttline.com

The discounts are available to all FIA Car and UEM Bike teams that register to run in the European Drag Racing Championship.

Speedgroup co-ordinator Åsa Kinnemar comments; -We are on a constant mission to work towards making things more cost effective and easier to handle for the teams. This is one step to try and assist, as we know travel to and from races is a major expense for all teams.

Most teams need to travel between Scandinavia and Germany several times every race season. Therefore we are happy TT-line made a serious effort and welcomed the opportunity to co-operate with Speedgroup for the teams in the European Drag Racing Championship.

I hope and believe the deal with TT-line will mean teams choose the routes TT-line operate whenever they can. Together with TT-line´s freight and passenger departments, we have also agreed on some easy routines to handle team reservations.

Teams book via email, fax or telephone with TT-line directly in (staff is swedish, english and german speaking). When stating Speedgroup contract codes, the teams get the discounted pricing straight away. No middle hands, just the teams directly in contact with the experts at TT-line. And no extra administration. Payment is made in the terminal cash or by bank/creditcard.

The contracts are in effect all 2011, and teams can use the discounts for any travel to/from exhibitions or other purposes also during off race season months.

Truck and trailer combinations

Buses, motorhomes, cars, or lighter car & trailer combinations
.. book through TT-line´s passenger department. There we have agreed on a flat rate discount for all transportation on all departures..

Tierp Arena places Sweden on the world dragcing map

published March 4th 2011 Sweden´s newest state of the art dragracing venue Tierp Arena is scheduled to host two rounds in the NDRS Dragracing Series and SDL Dragracing League

- the NDRS Nationals on May 7-8th, which is also the premier event at the brand new track.

- the Sweden International June 9-12th which is also a confirmed FIA/UEM European Drag Racing Championship round

Expectations are high and Tierp Arena have made sure they have the best staff for all key functions. The track is built according to both NHRA and FIA standard and no doubt it will attract teams from many countries this summer. Everybody wants to run at the Tierp Arena! February 7th 2011:
Speedgroup hosted an information meeting feb the 5th in Birmingham, UK

Some of the meeting participants: Robin Jackson, Micke Gullqvist, Spencer Tramm, Graham Ellis and Andy Robinson. With fresh feedback from the recent organizer´s meeting it was a dynamic, constructive and informative afternoon where all meeting partipants could have their voice heard and provide feedback in different matters connected to the European Drag Racing championship. A report summarizing both the UK and organizers meeting will be emailed to the meeting participants and all FIA drivers o UEM champ. riders later this week.

January 31st 2011:
There is a lot of interest for what was discussed at the organizer´s meeting. The notes will not be made public from this meeting, but we will update drivers and riders within a few days in an email summary.

Meanwhile we can let you know that all track organizers, FIA and UEM was represented at the meeting (21 persons in all) and that we had a constructive day in a very positive spirit. The conference day did not last long enough to cover everything we would have wanted, but the work continues in co-operation with the organizers for the months ahead incl. hands on projects for this season as well as continous championship planning for the longer perspective.

December 16th:

Roger Lyrén, Åsa Kinnemar and Michael Gullqvist represented Speedgroup at the PRI show

Speedgroup was among the exhibitors at the 23rd PRI (Performance Racing Industry Trade Show) held at the Orlando Convention Center in Florida december 9-11th. There is a clear interest among american suppliers to get involved in European Drag Racing to a higher extent than today and Speedgroup is developing a new concept to meet the needs the companies have and provide exposure and product display and sales around the championship events for 2011 in addition to the traditional contingency concept. US media interest for the European Championship is also noticeable and connections were made at the PRI show to work with some of the premium US based media around the European Championship for 2011.
